Information we collect

In compliance with federal regulations, Michael Andrews & Associates LLC is providing you with this statement of our privacy policy.

We obtain the following kinds of information, called "nonpublic personal information," about you from the following sources:

  • Information received from you on applications, forms, or other correspondence, such as your name, address, social security number and income;
  • Information about your transactions with us or others, such as your account balance and payment history; and
  • Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, motor vehicle dealers, credit references, employers, insurance companies and insurance agencies, such as your credit history, credit score, and information that we obtain to verify employment or insurance coverage.

How we protect it

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted or required by law.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to our employees and third parties who need to know that information in order to service your account.

Additionally, we take other steps to safeguard your nonpublic personal information in a manner consistent with industry standards for similar sized companies. We will review our safeguards from time to time, and strive to maintain them in a manner consistent with federal regulations, if any, that may be in effect from time to time.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)

MAA fully complies with the FDCPA in every jurisdiction where we operate. The FDCPA prohibits abusive, deceptive, and unfair debt collection practices and gives consumers specific rights when dealing with debt collectors.

Industry standards

Receivables Management Association (RMA)

MAA is a certified member of RMA International, the leading trade association for the receivables management industry. We adhere to their strict certification standards and code of ethics.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

We monitor and implement CFPB guidance and regulations as they pertain to debt collection practices, ensuring our procedures align with current regulatory expectations.

Multi-state licensing

MAA maintains all required state licenses and registrations to operate as a debt collection agency. We comply with state-specific requirements for bonding, registration, and operational practices.
